"Can not write to drive" - repeated ...

Greetings,

I have an iPhone 3G, running, in the past, Vista and now Win7 RC. What happens is that whenever I go to synch, it gives me some error about not being able to write to the drive. The first time this happened, I took it to the local Apple store and they just reset it, and I was able to write everything back to the phone.... the next time I went to update/backup, I got the same error.

The phone otherwise works perfectly fine. Windows and iTunes recognize it. There is no malfunction, I can write things to the iphone drive... but iTunes won't update it with 3.1 or backup any data.

I suppose I could find some way to reset it, but I'd be in the same boat in a week. The drive obviously works. I've tried different cables and USB ports.
