Bluetooth headset doesn't always ...

I have a plantronics 510 headset, runnint latest iPhone OS 3.1.2 (7D11). I paired my headset to my phone no problem. The issue I am having is that when I turn the headset on the phone doesn't always reconnect with the headset automatically. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.

I have tried resetting the phone, turing bluetooth on and off, deleting the headset from the phones list of bluetooth connections and repair it to the phone and still I get less than 50% auto reconnections when I power the headset on. It doesn't seem to matter if the phone is locked or at the home screen.

When it won't connect automatically, the only way I can get it to connect is to go into settings
