I got my iPhone 3G replaced about a month ago. I received an iPhone that came in a white box (probably refurbished). I have noticed that the screen shows vertical lines when in sleep mode. The screen is off, there is no back light, but i can see grayish/reddish vertical lines. The lines disappear once I wake the iPhone.
I have also noticed at times when the iPhone is asleep if there are no lines I see a dark reddish tint on the screen.
When the screen is on there are no apparent defects, except I did have the screen not respond to touch twice and had to do a hard reset. I have not found much info when goggling the line problem. But found a picture similar to my problem: http://www.fozzie.co.uk/iPhonevertlines.jpg
Is this normal?
PS. reason for replacement was abnormally low battery life, which started after 3.1 fw
