problems with iphone 3G ...

i have an iphone 3G 8GB ver. 3.0

i can't sync it with my pc.
i have XP-SP3.using ACER laptop.

1. my iphone sometimes being detected and shows on itunes but not sync. but is shows on the iphone sync in progress. after several hours, i checked the iphone.nothing happened...

2. iphone shows on the side bar as a DEVICE but only for a few seconds.

3. an error message showing "INVALID RESPONSE FROM THE DEVICE"

4. MOST OF THE TIME "USB CANNOT RECOGNIZE ONCE I PLUG IT.

i have the newest version of itunes.i just took it off and istall it again.
i already did trouble shooting that was recommended from this site.

PLEASE HELP ME...........I HAD THIS IPHONE 3G for months

im so frustrated and desperate about this issue....
