I have a friend that tried to update their iphone through itunes. However, they were running verison 8, so they could not update. During the process, their contacts were removed from the phone. I looked on their comptuer and there is a folder under docs and settings\user\application data\apple computer\logs\crash reporter\mobile device. I tried to update itunes, but the quick time installaion was corrupted. After a few hours, i was finally able to get the old version of itunes and quicktime removed and itunes 9 installed.
When i go into itunes and devices, the list is no longer there showing backups. I checked the app data folder, and all of the devices are still there. How do i get the new install of itunes to recognise the backups/folders that the old version made? Or is there a way I can try to recover data from folder?
