Does anyone know what the battery gauge is measuring? Does it calculate what the battery usage should have been based on usage or measure the actual physical battery power remaining?
I have been surprised sometimes about how little or how much power it shows has been used. As an example, I can listen to the iPod for several hours with almost no usage reported and then exhaust it quickly with other functions (like Safari).
