Possessed broken LCD ...

I recently bought an iphone 3g 16gb from a woman on craigslist for $125. The only problem was that the screen did not show anything after she dropped it. It still rang when called, made sounds, etc. I tested all of this. When I looked at the screen in the sun I saw distorted lines and boxes, so I figured it's just a quick LCD swap and everything will be ok. I was wrong.

My friend, who has his own 3g 16gb, offered to let me try his LCD just to make sure it worked. After I swapped LCD's and tried to turn it on, nothing. Then when my friend put his LCD back into his iPhone, his LCD didn't work!! ***?? Can anyone explain to me what could be the problem? And no, it's not that we hooked it up wrong. That's a noob mistake and I quadruple checked. Please help

Can my friend use my old IPhone 3G in ...

Hello, I purchased the 3G last year and upgraded to the 3G S in July. I don't know what to do with my old phone. I have a friend who is now living in Liberia and travels back/forth to the US about 3-4 times per year. She told me that the phone has to be GSM-Broadband in order for her to use it. I called Apple, they told me that the 3G was GSM but didn't say anything about it being broadband.

My husband's iphone will dial itself. It is usually not the last number. Is there a way he can "confirm" before he dials? (It keeps calling my mother-in-law, herein lies the real problem!)

iPhone software upgrade ...

not sure why ever upgrade the iPhone software because it never fails, I end up wasting a day because the time bombs.

Any suggestions. I tried updating to the latest version and basically had to "recover" my iphone. during the recovery my iTunes locks up on me (I update that to latest verions eariler this week.

I'm on xp.

I used to have always my itunes sync to my iphone.
I just bought a new computer but I cannot move everything that I have on my iPhone to my new computer(iTunes), how can i do it without erasing my iphone files?
